Baritone Daniel Roob was born in North East Germany in 1978.

His musical talent became apparent from an early age, when he would encourage his fellow school pupils to sing melodies to which he would develop harmonies. Naturally he later joined the school choir and started singing solo parts in local concerts. It was at this point that he noticed his extraordinary interest for the human voice. Inspired by a concert given by an international choir in his hometown of Waren Mueritz, he decided to found and direct his own a cappella ensemble, singing his own arrangements of gospel and traditional songs.

In 1997, Daniel Roob made his first serious contact with classical music. He auditioned for a production of "Margarete" by Charles Gounod at the Landestheater Neustrelitz and was accepted into the chorus. However, he also continued to work with his a cappella ensemble, leading to his county's award for outstanding achievement as a musician in 1998. Later that year his ensemble appeared as the celebrated special guest at the German National School Music Convention. Daniel Roob was further invited to conduct and coach other choirs, amongst them the 100 voice GospelPower Masschoir in Leipzig, Germany.

In 2000 he founded the British/German ensemble "Jambalaya Spirit", which to date tours Germany once a year with him as musical director and soloist. Since 2002 he has been studying singing at the OPERALAB Studios with Gilles Denizot, and orchestral conducting with Paul Sarcich at Morley College, London.
